Maxxis Ardent 26 x 2.15 Mountain Bike Tire

Maxxis tires have become the go-to tires, and Maxxis Ardentare at a great price point. This is a tire that has a solid amount of grip and corners well, but that will drift predictably when you want to drift. The Maxxis Ardent is a great mountain bike tire at a great affordable price.

The Ardent has been part of the Maxxis lineup for years. It’s a trail tyre, through and through, sitting somewhere between the Crossmark and legendary Minion in terms of rolling speed/grip stakes. As an all-weather, all-rounder, we rate the Ardents very highly.

In a 2.15″ size, the Ardent has a good, tall bag to it, offering plenty of cushions and encouraging lower pressures.

As usual with Maxxis tyres, the durability has is fantastic. The rubber compound mightn’t be as soft as some of its competitors (especially Schwalbe), but the Maxxis Ardent hangs on well in damp conditions nonetheless. We’ll continue to run these treads through the winter and beyond.

Get after it with Maxxis Ardent holding the line. This versatile tire features large block-style side knobs with numerous edges for high-speed corners along with a ramped centre tread for easy rolling. Plus, the high-volume casing delivers a plush ride. This EXO version adds an extremely cut and abrasion-resistant material to the sidewalls for extra peace of mind.

Designed to bridge the gap between the XC Ikon and the trail-specific Ardent, the Ardent Race is a fast-rolling rear tyre that offers superb grip when cornering and decent stopping bite while braking, especially considering the minimal-sized knobs.
