Happy Days Cycles pedals in to support Overgate Winter Mountain Bike Challenge

Happy Days Cycles has announced plans to work in tandem with Overgate Hospice to inspire local cyclists to take to their bikes for charity this November.

Happy Days will be one of the sponsors of the hospice’s Winter Mountain Bike Challenge on Sunday 15 th November, which will raise much needed funds for Overgate.

The ride will set off from the hospice on Hullen Edge Road in Elland and take in 20 miles of the Calderdale countryside. Participants can expect stunning views – and a few good climbs.

Happy Days Cycles is a social enterprise selling new and pre-loved donated bikes and bike accessories from its shop in Sowerby Bridge along with maintenance and servicing. All proceeds support the community living initiatives of the Happy Days charity, which provides supported accommodation for the homeless.

Faye Henderson of Overgate Hospice said: “It’s great to have the support of Happy Days which is such a well-known local name in cycling and another fantastic community organisation that works hard for the people of Calderdale.”

Mark Rose of Happy Days Cycles said:

“In the run up to the event the shop will be well stocked with helmets and accessories – not to mention bikes for those who need them to make sure they’re challenge ready.

“We’ll be there on the day to cheer on the cyclists and help out with any last minute technical hitches they might have.”

Happy Days trustee Gareth Henderson has already signed up to take part in the ride with his brother, son and nephew. If you’d like to join in and help raise vital funds for Overgate Hospice you can call the fundraising team on 01422 387121 or sign up here:
